Radial force reduction for switched reluctance motor with skewed slot structure based on FEM

چکیده
Introduction Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) have several advantages (rotor simplicity, high speed operation, ease of repairing, high degree of independence between phases, short end-turn, and low inertia) and used for aerospace systems, marine propulsion systems, linear drives, mining drives, hand held tools and home utility applications. However, a major disadvantage of SRM is vibration problem. Radial force (RF) between stator and rotor of SRM is main excitation source to make a large deformation of stator laminations, which can produce intensive vibration and undesirable acoustic noise. Reduction of electromagnetic RF using skewed slot structure for SRM is rarely studied. In this paper, built nonlinear electromagnetic RF model is described and skewed slot structure of rotor is designed to reduce magnitude of electromagnetic RF and vibration.

A New Skewed-Rotor-Pole Switched Reluctance Motor Design
This paper considers a new switched reluctance motor (SRM) structure aiming at high starting torque with low volume. For some applications such as EVs (Electrical Vehicles), the motor volume and starting torque is a critical point in its design. In many methods, reducing the motor volume causes reduction in starting torque and decreases the motor efficiency. Unlike conventional SRMs, the rotor ...

This paper deals with electromagnetic design and 2-D (two-dimensional) magnetic field analysis of novel low force ripple linear switched reluctance (LSR) motor. The configuration that has been presented here has a higher number of rotor poles than stator poles, and the purpose of this configuration is to improve the force ripple, which is the weak point of LSRMs. In order to illustrate the ...

Article history: Received: 5.1.2016. Received in revised form: 15.3.2016. Accepted: 15.3.2016. With finite element method (FEM) using ANSYS finite element (FE) package, an electromagneticstructural simulation model is introduced for the switched reluctance motor (SRM). Since the main reason of noise and vibration in the SRM is a radial force applied to stator poles, the 2D FE transient analysis...

Using ANSYS finite element (FE) package, a multi-physics simulation model based on finite element method (FEM) is introduced for the multi-layer switched reluctance motor (SRM) in the present paper. The simulation model is created totally in ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) as a parametric model usable for various conventional types of this motor and it is included electromagnetic, therm...

Torque ripple minimization of switched reluctance motor drives is a major subject based on these drives’ extensive use in the industry. In this paper, by using a well-known cascaded torque control structure and taking the machine physical structure characteristics into account, the proposed energy-based (passivity-based) adaptive sliding algorithm derived from the view point of energy dissipati...
